Does 3D TV Do The Job?

LED versus LCD and Plasma
Wednesday, June 16, 2010
What else do you need to say about LED when it makes standard def Foxtel look 50% better than either LCD or plasma? We have never seen Foxtel look as good as it did on an LED. 100Hz, 200Hz, yadda yadda yadda. You can add what you like to old technology, but it will only give minor improvements on a basic picture. LED has better colours, is brighter,

What a Sale!

Another story of the tales you are told in a store. We had a client wanting to purchase a bracket from us, and he had been given the model of a bracket by a Harvey Norman store. Obviously ill-informed, the salesman gave the model number of a new bracket for which no stock had even arrived in the country, and was $600 more than the model he was actually talking about. Strangely, when we informed the client that he was being sold the wrong model, the customer went back into the store to be misinformed again. He was subsequently told that the bracket he was originally looking at, despite being better designed, was inferior to the old model, as the old model has a stronger arm. Funnily, both brackets have the same extension from the wall, and have the same size screens and weight specs. Perhaps reading the figures on the side of the box and looking at the picture are all you need as experience to offer advice these days. The fact that the cables look hideous on the old bracket, and is harder and takes almost 2 hours longer to install wont ever be realised by the customer, as he cant compare it to the new bracket. To top it all, they managed to charge him more for the older model bracket. Big mistakes on both sides of the sale. Talk to someone who has installed what you are intending to buy, not someone motivated by the sale of a box. At least you will have someone to call if you need advice after the sale.
